Most Amazing Features: Samsung Galaxy S4 or Samsung Galaxy Note 2

The latest Samsung Galaxy S4 has been able to attract lots of eye balls all over the world. While many have already made the choice to purchase the Galaxy S4, there are still lots of people who are still confused whether to purchase this smart phone or to opt for other smart phones like Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
While the Galaxy S4 has already started arriving on the doorsteps for those who had pre-ordered it, it is still not available for immediate purchase. Those who have already started taking advantage of this smart phone have reported that the Galaxy S4 is a tempting smart phone which boasts amazing features.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 4.99-inch full HD Super AMOLED 1,920 x 1080 display with a pixel density of 441ppi while the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with an S-AMOLED capacitive touch screen display of 5.5 inches of 720 x 1280 resolutions with a pixel density of 267 ppi. The Galaxy S4 uses Super AMOLED display with a PenTile pixel arrangement.
The Galaxy Note 2 has got an 8MP camera of 3264×2448 pixels resolution. However, the Galaxy S4 has got a 13 megapixel rear camera that can shoot video in Full HD 1080p quality. It also has a 2 megapixel camera that can also record 1080p video.

The Galaxy S4 will have the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS while the Galaxy Note 2 operates on Android Jelly Bean v.4.1.1.
However, like the Galaxy Note 2 even the Galaxy S4 has got 2 GB RAM and the storage capacity of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB which can be expanded further through microSD card.

Battery wearing out

This is a common song sung about all models of smartphones, truth is with more features and processing power, you need more power. The battery is becoming more and more less sufficient to meet the ever increasing needs of these phones. According to fixya a study was done on some of the most common smartphones and battery life cut across all the phone models as the most popular problem. This report was done with 25 million users, 650000 experts and 15 million product problems and solutions. It includes some of the common problems popular smartphone models have and how they can be fixed.

Solution

If your phone battery starts to need charge every 2-3 hours with regular usage, its time to buy another battery. If your battery works fine and you just need it to push through a typical work day or you want it to last you till you upgrade your phone, then here are some simple solutions you already know:
  • Turn down screen brightness
  • Closing all the apps you are not using
  • Turning off the extra things like wifi and bluetooth when not in use
  • If you need to listen to music whole day everyday, get an mp3 player
  • Not using your phone beyond certain battery percentage (15-20%)
Even with knowledge of these simple solutions we are still reluctant to follow through. Blame it on laziness or just the thought that if the app is closed you are missing out on something. This is something we need to consciously put into practice to maximize our time with these gadgets – a personal discipline.

                                  • 1tsp minced garlic
                                  • 1/2 tsp salt
                                  • 1/2 tsp pepper
                                  • 12 skewers, (soaked for at least an hour)
                                  Method:
In a large bowl, combine all the kofta ingredients and mix well.
Place 1/3 cup of the mixture in the palm of your hand and roll between your two hands to make a cylinder or tube like shape about 4" long and about 1" in diameter.
Insert one of the pre-soaked skewers up the center of the chicken kofta kebab just until it begins to poke out the other end.
Clean and oil the grates and preheat the grill to 525 degrees Fahrenheit. When the grill is heated up, place the kebabs on the grill and close the lid.
Every 5 minutes rotate the kofta kebabs so all sides cook.
After 10 - 12 minutes they'll be fully cooked and can be removed from the grill.
Serve this with a creamy garlic cucumber sauce and some pita, tortilla shells or buns.
You can also consider chopped tomato, onion, cucumber or other toppings.

                                  • 1 stalk(s) celery, finely chopped
                                  • 4 clove(s) garlic, minced
                                  • 1 can(s) (28 ounces) diced tomatoes
                                  • Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
                                  • 1/2 pound(s) whole wheat spaghetti or linguine
                                  • 2 tablespoon(s) chopped flat-leaf parsley
                                  • 1 large pinch red pepper flakes
                                  • 3/4 cup(s) grated Parmesan cheese
                                  • 2 tablespoon(s) whole wheat breadcrumbs

                                  Directions

                                  1. To make sauce: In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion, carrots, celery and garlic. Cook, stirring frequently, until vegetables begin caramelizing, about 12 minutes. Turn heat to low; cook until very soft, 10-15 minutes. Raise heat to medium; add tomatoes. Bring to a simmer and partially cover. Cook 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper.
                                  2. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook spaghetti according to package directions, subtracting several minutes off cooking time so it comes out very al dente.
                                  3. Drain well; add to sauce. Add parsley and red pepper flakes; toss to combine. Transfer to a 2-quart baking dish. Spread level. Sprinkle with cheese and bread crumbs. Drizzle with olive oil. Bake until top is browning and sauce is bubbling, about 15 minutes. Serve immediately.

Review on Naway Sahar Laptop Scheme (KPK)

Naway Sahar (New Dawn) Laptop Scheme, started by government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to facilitate the TALENTED students of the province. Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti on Sunday, February 10th, 2013 inaugurated the Naway Sahar Laptop Scheme by distributing 35 laptops among the topper students of BS Program under University of Peshawar and students of three affiliated degree colleges. Around 23,147 laptops will be distributed through the scheme among the students who had achieved 70% or above marks in their last semester. Similarly, those students who had secured 60% marks during their annual examination will also be eligible for the laptop. Similarly, top forty position holders of government institutions from each board of intermediate and secondary education and board of technical education would also get laptops. KPK Govt. is ensuring transparency in the procurement and distribution of the laptops among some twenty three thousand plus students studying in the various degree programs in KPK’s public sector universities.
No doubt that this scheme indeed is a very good initiative for easy and fastest excess to the facilities of information technology. This will enable students to get benefit from the world latest and largest knowledge of their interest. This is just the beginning, and a lot more is needed to be done to achieve the world class standards. Nowadays computer particularly laptop is the need of every educated person. But it is very difficult for the Govt. to provide laptop to every student, therefore ultimately some criteria for selection is essential. Among the student community mostly reward and support is provided on the basis of:
                                  • ·         Merit as incentive to the Top positions/securing high level of marks
                                  • ·         To meet the need of the poor students who have no power of purchase

It is good to know that under this scheme up till now laptop distribution is going on with complete transparency among the students on merit. But the level of merit is the matter of concern.  Is it just to line up the hardworking students of Top positions or those securing 85 % and above marks in the same rank with the students of least effort who secured 60/70% marks? The standard/ level of merit for this scheme is kept very low.
This scheme would have served a double purpose of motivation and incentive if the level of merit was kept reasonably high and preserved a quota for the REAL poor students. Hence besides equipping the students with laptop, this would have been a lead source for enhancing the spirit of competition and advancement in different fields.
