How to Make Effective Presentation

A presentation is a live mode of sharing information for a selected audience.It is a form of oral communication in which a person shares factual information with a particular audience.It can also include visual electronic aids (such as LCD projectors) to discuss new ideas and information in a impressive and convincing manner.
Here are some following steps:

  • DEFINING PURPOSE - The purpose of presentation must be clearly defined before you start the presentation.It may be to 1.Inform people about an idea or describe a business opportunity to gain support for some course of action. 2.To inform,to analyse,to persuade. 3.Creating an awareness.
  • ANALYZING AUDIENCE & LOCALE - An audio understanding about the need of your understanding audience it will help you to focus your developing presentation on those issues that would be interest to the listeners.The presenter extra benefits should adjust his style to accommodate need of all cultural and linguistic difference culture.He should try to find out the following questions, 
        1. who is your audience ?
            2. why are they attending your presentation ?
              3. what is their background and level of knowledge ?
               4. what are the interest ,likes and dislikes ?

                LOCALS - local is the physical environment.The speaker should know about
               1.place of presentation.
               2.public address system is available or not.
               3.Visual aids is available or not.
        • ORGANIZING CONTENT - After identifying the audience , start collecting material for your presentation . By now two things should be ready,
                 1. Define essential things to give shape your presentation.
                    2. Analyse into three major parts .....
                     (A) INTRODUCTION----indicates the main idea of the presentation.It comprises the aim and the               layout opening statement can be a question or a sincere greeting.A good introduction is the                   vehicle to lead the audience into the main body.
                   (B) MAIN BODY-----The main body of the presentation should be backed by supporting material.This          part includes the finding of your survey and analyse of your data.
                (C) CONCLUSION----The presentation has to concluded by reviewing the main point in conclusion .In conclusion the presenter should remind the audience briefly about the purpose of your presentation.
                  (D) PREPARING THE OUTLINE----An outline serves as a guide to show you the right path ta your presentation.Outline can be organized like this
                    1.introduction ..........
                      2.various aspects........
                        3.function...............
                          4.facilities.............
                            5.conclusion.............

                                (E) AUDIO-VISUAL AIDS-----we can enhance the value of presentation by using audio visual aids.While addressing a large audience ,one should use the P.A system.Visual aids includes charts ,pictures,graphs etc
